I don't know about our local hospitals Crommers. Ed has to go to the Royal National Orthopedics Hospital in Stanmore because of his history of bone disease. The reason Mr McCulloch used robotics for his knee is it's the site of operations Ed had as a child, you can actually get your hand into the scars either side. He didn't want to risk shoving anything down the long bone incase it caused problems, hence the use of robotics as they are very accurate, also the reason he had a purpose built replacement fitted. Ed said it was quite touching seeing how chuffed Mr. McCulloch is that it worked so well, no surprise really as other surgeons Ed's seen over the years have always said 'no one will ever touch that knee'.
