Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 21 Jul 2023, 03:41

Good morning.

Had a lovely flight over yesterday and went out with Gez and Sharon last night to a new Indian restaurant which was superb. :D

It's a lovely fresh morning. I am going to enjoy the luxury of choosing which jeans and t-shirt to wear as opposed to my next to nothing attire in Spain.

Going to New Oscott cemetery this morning to pay our respects to Don's brother.
Jackie's driving over to pick me up after that as I'm going to stay at hers for a couple of nights. :D

Don's out with friends tonight as I am but different friends and a different pub.

Have a great day.

Good morning Ally and everyone - happy Friday!

glad you arrived safely Ally, have just the most amazing days ahead - no doubt busy as you always are, but nice to catch up with everyone xx

Friday = usual work from home day. Have someone coming round at 3'ish to give me a valuation on my home. Told them - and made it VERY clear - that I'm not interested in selling so they better not start with lots of calls; but will be interesting to see what they value the property at now I've changed it around. So mad dash cleaning and tidying this morning  :P :D - just as well work is very quiet!

Fingers crossed E gets home today Jen

Have a lovely day all x

Morning everyoje

Rather cloudy and a little chilly again this morning. Once the clouds have gone, it will be a lovely day.

Hope E gets home safely today jen x

Think you might be surprised just how much prices have gone up Ria :D Hopefully good news for you x

Enjoy your day Ally x

Car being washed again  We're meeting friends down at the bar later and they want us to take the new car down, so they can have a drive (sitting in it, no-one else can drive it yet, not even me   )

I have the cleaning to get through and I've picked some seed pods off a tree, so they need to get into pots.

And, as it's a lot cooler than normal, I have been requested to make a curry for tomorrow :o  So I'll be doing that too.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

It will be interesting Jan - the value definitely has gone up loads since I bought it. I remortgaged end last year it was valued as a 2 bed flat at the time - admittedly a very pokey one and I had it set up as a one bed; but officially it was a two bed. But I've now removed a wall which officially makes it a spacious 1 bed so that would (probably lower) affect value I suspect. As you say we can only hope for good news, but I am being realistic :D
(and to add that the wall that was removed was done is such a way that it can easily be put back so it goes back to a 2 bed if ever there is a need)

Morning all, mostly cloudy here but the sun is breaking through - horrible forecast for the weekend though which is disappointing as we are going to Wicklow tomorrow to stay the night and Michael has booked golf for Edward and himself tomorrow evening. Edward was up early this morning to watch golf and is going out to play himself later this morning. Thankfully, his toothache (if it is that, dentist could see nothing) is slightly improved and he slept well. I’ve yet to have my shower and today’s list includes packing some stuff for tomorrow’s overnight and doing the ironing. Tesco delivery this afternoon. Going dancing tonight.

Morning all, it’s dull after a sunny start.

Had an eventful walk with Bill this morning. We ran into the Friday dog walking group, never usually a problem but I put Bill on his lead because I needed to get back for a parcel delivery and he’s prone to lingering a bit too long with them. Today there was a dog we hadn’t seen before, looked like a labrador cross, and as soon as it saw us it walked ahead of the group and started snarling, baring it’s teeth and going for Bill. It’s owner eventually grabbed it, I checked Bill over and he had a fair bit of saliva in his back and back legs but the skin wasn’t broken. As it ran around us though it clawed my leg and I’ve got a very light scratch down the back of my leg which it had done through my jeans! The lady who organises the walk, she’s a dog walker/trainer by profession and I see her most mornings, was concerned that Bill was okay but the dog owner didn’t say a thing.

Just waiting for the Tesco delivery now. Tom finishes work at lunchtime and then he’s going for food with some others. Joe also finishes work at lunchtime and he’s off out with work people too, Amanda stayed last night and drove him to work and she’s then picking him up later. They’re off to Cornwall for a few days of camping tomorrow. They were originally planning on going at the end of August but with Amanda moving and starting her new job before then they’ve brought it forward.

I’ve just booked to see the Barbie movie tomorrow night, I’ve never been to the cinema on my own before but there’s no way John would go to see that. Had trouble finding a screening which wasn’t sold out, and it’s obviously not just for kids seeing as the last screening is at 10.45pm

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Ed's looking much more himself this morning. Physio have signed him off so now just got to hope he doesn't have to wait around too long for his transport. He was told yesterday it was booked for this morning, but nothing can happen until the pharmacy have sorted his meds and they always take ages, so fingers crossed.

Also expecting a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon, lets hope they don't clash with Ed.

Hope you all have a good day xxx

Glad you're both OK Jo - that can't have been pleasant. Sadly stories like yours are becoming more and more common and too many owners just don't give a toss... their dog is an angel and can't have done something wrong.
I was talking to the receptionist at my vet about this a while back - too many covid era dogs that were purchased during lockdown and because of lockdown rules never had the chance to properly socialise with other dogs / meet many other people whilst in they were in their puppy phase which is most important time; and the owners never bothered to try fix that once lock downs eased. So many owners really need to take a long hard look at themselves and realise they are the issue; not their dog and that they need to do something about themselves not the rest of society making allowances for them

rant over :D
