Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 04 Aug 2023, 04:52

Good morning.

With temps of 42° at home I'm happy here. I had a Whatsapp from David last night saying how hot it was and that man is a sun God!

I had a really interesting day yesterday.
Craig was at a meeting in Leicester so I went along with him in the car then, armed with Google maps, found where Joe Orton was born and had a walk round the area.
I then made my way back to the city centre and enjoyed lots of walking. All 24kms of it.

Today I'm going into town to meet my friend Steve for lunch. :D

Friday beers minus the tapas tonight.

Have a great day.

Hope B has a fantastic birthday Kaz. xx :cute:

Morning all :)

Ally, that does sound interesting 8-) :) xx

It's Becky's birthday, she's 28!!! Not sure how that happened  She's having a party tomorrow night, only a few friends but Mick and I will spend the night round D's and leave them to it. I guess next year's will be in Australia! She's working today, we might eat out this evening, will see what B wants to do, or maybe Sunday if she isn't too hungover

I have my SW meeting at 9, then brunch out with Mick. Our nephew Sam is up from Somerset to see D, so we'll pop round. He can't stay longer he's on manoeuvres with the Marines every weekend at the moment, preparing for deployment in the autumn.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning everyone

Sunny and the heat is ramping for the next couple of weeks. At least the wind has dropped to breeze level instead of hooley

Done my watering and chatted with one of the plants who had their leaves munched, told it how well it's doing, as lots of new leaves. We've had to cover most of the plants in chicken wire, which look horrible, but at least they're thriving.

I cleaned the house yesterday, so it's t he kitchen today and maybe some window frames, see how I feel.

Happy Birthday to B :Hi: :Hi:

Have a great day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all and happy Friday!

Happy happy birthday to B - sounds like a perfect weekend of celebrations to be had
24km is quite impressive Ally - glad you had a fab day yesterday
Jan, glad I'm not the only one that talks to my plants

well another dull grey and just meh day here - seriously sick and tired and oh so bored of it now! It's August and I'm sitting inside with slippers on my feet and wearing a long sleeved top. Another usual / usual of working and pootling for me; I'm trying to declutter the house - slowly does it / bit by bit. Angelo's doorstep collection (https://anglodoorstepcollections.co.uk/about-us/) is coming this morning to pic up some bits and I'll start gathering for their next collection in a months time. If you've got stuff to donate, have a look at their website - it's so easy to do and all goes to a good cause.

Vet appointment this afternoon, but that's about it

have a lovely day all xxxx

Morning all, it’s a nice day so far but needless to say, rain is forecast for later  I’m expecting a delivery, it’s coming with a courier firm of which I have no experience. According to the tracking, it reached the parcel centre around 6am but does not say it is out for delivery yet. I was hoping it would come today as we are heading into a bank holiday weekend but now it could be tomorrow. It means I can’t go out until Edward gets home from golf.

We had a nice day in Wicklow yesterday, Edward, Michael, SIL and other grandad had nice weather for their golf which was a treat at this stage, and what’s more they won the team event. Kellie and “the girls” were putting on their annual show and Miss Osc was helping out with that so I took myself off into Wicklow town, a shop I like there has a 50% off sale on and I got a nice top. Kellie’s show was sweet and funny, they had made up a story, choreographed and chose music, did some dancing and LOTS of cartwheels and handstands as most of them seem to do gymnastics. Then we met up with the men for something to eat in the golf club which was nice and relaxed. Other grandad took himself off after we had eaten, and we stayed on with Miss Osc and SIL and another couple joined us. It was Miss Osc and SIL’s 21st anniversary so there was lots of looking at the group photo and reminiscing about various people. Quite a long journey home as part of the motorway was closed for maintenance and there was a long diversion along country roads. However, we made it in time for Edward to leave his golf clubs and trolley to the golf club. I didn’t sleep very well so am pretty tired today. Still, I can potter around here at home - we won’t go dancing tonight as my ankle is still not 100% and I need it to be fully better before we go away.

Morning all, it’s dull and drizzly.

I’d walked Bill, come home, walked to town to Home Bargains and had got the bus home by 9am. Just waiting for the Tesco delivery now.

Joe’s going to Poole straight after work, he’ll be back on Sunday night. Tom’s now in Krakow, it does look lovely.

Happy Birthday to Becky!

Ria, I’ve bookmarked the link you posted. That’s very useful!

Have a good day all :)

Morning all :D

Dull and overcast

Happy Birthday Becky.
I've also saved your link Ria, what a great idea.

Usual Friday wash day for me, I shan't be attempting to change the bed, a few extras days won't hurt. Sainsbury's delivery later this afternoon and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Bit late, but here goes.

Happy Birthday to B, have a good one....and no hangover.

Ria, thanks for that link, I contacted them and I am now on their list - they collect here.

Crap day, rain, thunder.... but no rain!

Apart from that a fabulous day: not.

Thick duvet on...
