I am having an Ostrich for tea.

Not our Ossie, and not a whole one! :D

I was in B&M and the steaks were there. £1.50 for 220g, so cheaper than good beef steak

I'll do a dry rub of salt, pepper and a bit of thyme and fry it light, just a splash of oil, for three minutes per side and serve it with my version of a Waldorf salad.

It's a first for me so I'll let you know how it goes...

Ostrich is supposed to be a very lean meat so don't over-cook it - enjoy!

Sorry, I forgot.

No FP it was superb. I did it light in a searing hot pan for just a few minutes per side with hardly any oil. It has an unusual taste, not gamey but a bit like a cross between veal and venison - sort of.

I have to pass the shop tomorrow so will get more for the freezer.
