Morning all
Bright and sunny
We were up quite early, but someone from physio phoned and spent quite a time going through how to prep the house for when I come home after surgery. He was very insistent on me keeping to non weight bearing and wants me to stay in the bedroom for the first few days. He couldn't reiterate more that if my foot even touches the floor the op would be seriously compromised.
I explained I've arranged to hire a StrideOn https://www.strideon.co.uk/product/Stri ... escription to arrive this Thursday. He said hopefully it will help, but it doesn't suit everyone. He's booked a commode and stool to also arrive Thursday. Apparently I will be provided with a something called a gutter frame to help transfer from the bed to a chair etc and the stool is to I keep my foot off the floor when sitting. I asked if we should raise the bed and armchair (we still have the blocks from Ed's last hip op) and he said that would also be a big help. They don't provide wheel chairs, but he's given me phone numbers for people who hire and also said I could buy a lightweight one for approx. £150. I'm not likely to be out and about for some time as I won't be able to drive, but will consider if necessary.
We're off to the cinema to see The Creator at 1.15pm, not sure what to expect as the reviews are mixed, but decided it will be a nice trip out as I'm not likely to be able to go again for quite a while.
Hope you all have a good day xx
