Just heard on an X space that Israel has done a full general call up of all reserves, men, women, everyone.

I have friends there and extended family. With Netanyahu as the PM with a fairly large majority this is not going to end soon or well.

This Israeli and Hamas thing could go on for weeks, but it is nothing like Fallujah. Israel is not going in to "take back" Gaza or other cities in the strip - it doesn't want to. It has already turned off the water, energy (gas and electricity) and food supplies. Next it will hit (hopefully carefully selected) targets from the air and stand-off artillery whilst closing the border with ground troops. I see the Hamas death toll this morning is 1,500.

Not sure about this. They have stated Hamas has to go. The only way to get Hamas out is to comb the whole city and take it under Israeli control. Those tanks on the border are not to close the border. They are to project power into the city itself. Although Tanks are extremely poor tools for taking a city as dense as Gaza.

BTW, similar runs the gamut from not neutral on the subject to raving nutjobs on the subject. Sorry should have been more specific.
