Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 19 Oct 2023, 05:30

Good morning.

Forecast sunny and 26° but the fantastic news is showers are due at 3pm.
We are absolutely desperate for some rain. :?

Going for a Guadalmar walk with Don and pick up some bits from Mercadona on the way home.

I'll have a swim then relax for the rest of the day.

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s rainy but nowhere near as bad as last night. We drove back from Stafford at 11 and the roads were awful.

Waiting to see if it stops raining at some point so Bill can get a walk.

We saw Sumotherhood at the cinema last night, Joe came with us. It was quite funny in parts, not the best film I’ve ever seen but you couldn’t help but like the two main characters.

Have a good day all :)

Hello and good morning

Ally, happy to trade some rain for sunshine?
Cruiser, same here - rain overnight but dry at the moment.
Jo, looking at the puddles on the road this morning, I'm glad I didn't have to drive anywhere yesterday evening. I must have slept quite deep because I didn't hear the rain even with the window open.

Office day again today so nothing exciting to report

have a lovely day everyone xxx

Morning all :D

Rain and wind overnight, nice and sunny now.

Meant to mention The Greyhound our local pub had a major fire on Sunday. It started in the kitchen which was completely destroyed, quick thinking from the staff who managed to shut the safety doors so it didn't consume the whole pub. They will be closed for at least 6 weeks. Horrible for Debbie and Keith the landlords as it's also their home. Luckily they also run 3 other pubs so are able to transfer bookings for those who wish to go ahead.

Hope the weather stays calm, feel like a little treat so we're going to San Clu for lunch.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

We've actually got a beautiful sunny day here, although there was a short, sharp shower about half an hour ago. Just seen in the news that somewhere in Scotland is having to evacuate people because of this big Storm Babette coming in  :?

Mick took me to Tesco early on, as I had a hair appointment at 11.45. Just had a bite of lunch, and I really must do the ironing. Pilates tonight.

Jen, how horrible for them :( xx

Ally, I hope you get that rain! xx

Enjoy your pootling, Cruiser xx

Fingers crossed it stops raining for Bill, Jo xx

Ria, we had a lot of rain overnight too xx

Love to all xxx

Good afternoon.
A very nice one too, the sun is out after heavy rain last night and drizzle this morning.
I hope you get your rain, Ally.
MrsC's uncle Jim wanted some dripping on his shopping list and after a bit of head scratching we managed to get some from a local butcher.
We're shortly going to pick up Eliza from school and tonight I'm off to the gun club.
Have a good day all.

Crommers, my mum used to save beef dripping from the Sunday joint, and she and dad ate it on toast. My sister and I thought it was horrible :?

Mum used to do a couple of brisket joints a month - very slow cooked.

The juices were put in an old milk jug and we had them on a slice of bread with a bit of salt an pepper The best bit was when we got to the jelly at the bottom of the jug. Heaven!
