WM,

I am getting wheelchair assistance. I will go to the taxi rank and get a taxi. I don't mind walking, I did this last year.

That went well.... erm.

We left the pub at 4PM to go our ways home.

My ticket was for the 6PM coach but I could get the 5PM one no problem, so it was game on.. However, due to traffic and weather the 5PM coach did not get in till 5:34, The driver's time had run out so he could not do a quick turn round and had to take a mandatory break. The original 6PM coach was also late, so we were 15 minutes late setting off. We got out of Birmingham pretty well - no problem. Then we got the call: 'The computer says "No!" With that we had to divert to Derby so that a man with a box of tricks could confirm what the computer said - it did. So, we trundled on up the M1 to Woodhall services to change coaches - the replacement was late. We then had to go back to the old route - Sheffield Centre, Meadowhall and home.

I opened my door at 10:23PM.

One good thing to report. On the way from Brum some prat was streaming something and it was loud. I was near the back and I could hear "it". The driver used the intercom to ask the person to turn it down, shut it off or use earphones - no response. He politely asked again and again no response.

At the time we were on the M42 but that changes to the A42 with lorry parks and lay-bys. So, the coach driver pulls over into one and goes to the prat and explains about respect for other passengers etc. The tick, tick, hiss, thump, tick noises go away. I wish that I had recorded the applause.

He got 5***** in my review.

Saundra, I did that a few years ago - normal fare but a confirmed seat. Covid time, and the train got cancelled. I got home at 1AM. The taxi fare home cost a fortune.

And, BTW, the train is five times the coach price. I am a Yorkie after all. ;)
