Fuel price-fixing.

Postby Workingman » 15 May 2013, 09:50

The big bad EU has raided the offices of Shell, BP, Statoil and Platts over concerns that the fuel market operated as a cartel to fix prices, whereas our own OFT concluded that the market was operating fairly.

I guess that many drivers have suspected price collusion for decades seeing as nearly all petrol stations in any particular area all offer the same price.

The EU might also want to look into the activities of oil speculators - traders - to see what dodgy practises they are involved in when buying/selling crude oil.
