White paper

Starmer on tv this morning talked about new rules for immigrants,still doesn't mention deportation for those already here or stopping the boats.He is only saying this now because
he is afraid of the growth of Reform as are many Labour mp's.
When is he going to grow a pair and take action?

That would be growing a pair like the Tories did would it?

Under the Tories net migration was the size of Leeds year-on-year in terms of population. It is that legal migration that Starmer wants to tackle with some urgency as it is over 20 time greater than the boat people.

He will not be that worried by Reform Ltd as they are taking votes from the Tories not Labour.

Quite a "dents" put in the "red wall" in the local elections,even a couple of "gaps",shows what could be coming down the line.
Unless he actually DOES something instead of just "hot air".

Taken from the BBC NEWS website;

'The Home Office has also posted a video on X, showing people being escorted onto planes by immigration enforcement officials, with the words: "we have removed more than 24,000 people".

But the claim is misleading. The government's latest figures show that only 6,339 of these were "enforced returns"., external The majority were "voluntary returns" - and a significant number of these happen without the government's direct involvement or even knowledge.'

Someone is 'spinning' information. I wonder which one of them.

Sir Keir's support is sliding away so something has to be done before the Labour Party joins the Conservative Party as last year's news. Whether Sir Keir actually wants to deport illegal immigrants is a moot point. He is a human rights lawyer and a leopard doesn't change his spots. All this 'lets deport them' must be sticking in his craw'

I'm not so sure about that. They took a by election he should have won and there were not many Labour councils/councillors up for election but they still hit him pretty hard.

Reality is that he only got around 38% of the vote last time and Reform split the Tory vote.

As time goes on and more council elections and by elections happen, the profile of reform will climb. He has to negate their byline and so he is betraying those who thought he would do things he didn't promise.

If he doesn't do something he is going to be seriously mauled at the next GE and if he is going to do something he has to start right now and actually DO something or nobody is going to believe his promises.

Watch this space. This is a defensive tactic and those often produce the most dramatic results with Labour.
