Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 17 May 2025, 06:45

Good morning.

Forecast 33° and sunny. 8-)

After my swim I'll be in the shade with my kindle.

David's picking me up at 7 this evening.
We'll go for a pint, pick up a couple of burgers then back to mine for Eurovision. :cute: :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely, sunny morning and 30C for us.

After a broken nights sleep, due to mozzie attacks, we're both a little tired this morning. We have numerous devices around the house to kill the little buggers, but they still get through

Off out weeding this morning. Just for a change

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello and good morning everyone

Ally, reading in the shade on a hot day - absolute bliss! Enjoy Eurovision this evening
Jan, have you got the plug in pad things - when we're on holiday, I find they work best. Plug in an hour before you go to bed, keep the door and windows closed and then you're good to go. And just leave them on all night. Good luck with the weeding
Cruiser, have the best time with your son; how long is he with you?

Listening to the radio this morning and the presenter keeps on nattering about the 'hot weather'... not sure where she is presenting from, but it's definitely not where I live     It's only 12 degrees outside at the moment with a really nippy breeze. Apparently clouds are meant to give way to sunshine come midday, but I'll believe that when I see it. Tidying house, garden and allotment on the agenda for me today.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all :)

Ally that sounds like a fun evening, hope you and D enjoy the madness :D ;) xx

Yikes, Jan, that sounds really uncomfortable :( Have you tried the things Ria suggested? xx

How lovely to have your son's company Cruiser :) xx

Ria, the eastern side of the UK is definitely getting the worst of the weather currently! Really unusual, as generally it's the warmest! xx

It's slightly overcast here, but set to burn off and 20° is forecast! We're meeting friends at a new (to us) venue for breakfast this morning. The Fleet, at Twyning near Tewksbury. Sounds like a long way to go just for brekkie, but it's actually a quick hop up the M5, only about 15 minutes 8-) Our friends took their daughter there last weekend and they have a lovely covered outside dining space, right by the river, and an extensive breakfast menu 8-) Dog-friendly too, but then most places around here are :) Round to see D later.

Have a lovely day everyone :) xx

Morning all, it’s lovely here, I spent time sitting in the sun yesterday and hope to do the same today. I’m actually wearing shorts (Edward says there are no horses nearby to frighten  bloody cheek). He is also wearing shorts and I thought his chino ones looked a bit scruffy so have just ordered him two new pairs from Next - their service over here is great, we should have them on Monday. I must warn you, what with me wearing shorts and I’ll be putting the summer duvet on today, the weather could change  For the first time ever, I’m in two minds about the Eurovision tonight - normally wouldn’t miss it but feel a bit meh about most of the songs and of course, Edward will want to watch golf, so we’ll see.

Saundra, lovely to see you on the daily thread. Did you hear from your other son? It would be great if you could move nearer to Jonathan (and Scarlett).

We have a variety of plug-in's dotted around the house.

I can't leave them in over night, due to asthma, so we have new one's which seemed to have worked, but just not last night

Morning all :D

Overcast and chilly brrr

We were up and out at silly o'clock to do the M&S trolley dash. The shelves are well stocked, but they are still having problems. I always buy the 5% mince beef from them, nearly all were dated for today, but only one pack was reduced. I'd have happily bought 3 packs as they go in the freezer. I queried it with one of the staff, they have run out of the stickers provided by the warehouse and can no longer use the ad hoc ones normally used in store. The staff member agreed it's a nonsense rule, just means if they don't all sell, they'll be throwing good food away tonight.

We will definitely be watching Eurovision tonight 8-)

Hope you all have a good day xx
