Commander Simon Letchford confirmed that there had been an increase in the number of attacks against Muslims, most of them name calling

It does continue to talk about minor criminal damage and "some" being of a more serious nature. But, honestly, that statement above just says it all.... What was the minor criminal damage? A broken fingernail? What was the more serious nature? Did they fart in their general direction???

The article then goes on to try and link this incident with the one in Luton, which has been proved to be of Islamic origin.....

So they did and they should get the book thrown at them. But I doubt it was EDL members. EDL has been very clear about this, there is more impact to be made with a rational dialogue than with any number of burned or damaged buildings. Hence the attempt in Luton to smear them with Arson by some of the Muslim community.

I’m getting seriously annoyed about inflammatory words like “attack” for incidents of verbal abuse.

Time was when an attack involved, fists, feet and other body parts and, sometimes including various lethal or non lethal weapons.

Now apparently you can attack someone by saying a few words they don’t like….

Time to grow up and grow a spine….. Or this country will descend from frilly pink skirt to a nappy and a bib…..

We all know what is happening here: the "community" is being reassured.

I do not have much of a problem with that, per se, but where are the assurances from that "community" to the wider community when its members carry out real attacks: atrocities? There is a strange silence from the majority, or half-hearted and conditional attempts, from a few, to apologise for, or even justify, their actions.

It is time for those within moderate Islam to stand up and denounce, wholeheartedly, the extremists within their ranks. Until that happens the whole of Islam will be treated with distrust by those outsie it, they need to realise that.

I will not be holding my breath.

Like you I have stated the same over and over again, there has been "no curb on female circumcision", forced marriages, brutality to children who are supposedly possessed, exploitation and sexual abuse on vulnerable children by Muslim gangs, trafficking, all part of the British way of life these days/ Paedophiles allowed to continue teaching in schools We have become a sick nation.
