Latest vet visit

Postby Diflower » 16 Jul 2013, 11:01

Yesterday we saw the lovely Alison.
Minnie's been on half a steroid tab every other day since the 6th of July. It hasn't helped with the ravenous hunger at all.
Alison said she's just not a dog who copes well with steroids - but they're the only treatment.
So we're now going down to 1/4 tab every other day, from today, which is about 6mg - we do still have some 5mg tabs but will use up the 25s first, they were so expensive it's silly to waste them.
Poos have gradually returned to normal, so far.

If the hunger subsides on the lower dose then we'll have a better idea of how she really is; and hope at the same time that it's a high enough dose to keep her pink.

And true to form she's had the runs again today...but, in desperation I'd cooked her some pasta because this hunger has really been awful. I'd thought, anything to make her feel she's eaten :? No knowing whether that was it or not, but have ditched it.
But she loved the walk round the sea wall tonight :)

Poor Minnie.

She really is on such a roller coaster isn't she. Poor love.

Well, we went down to the sea wall again tonight and she was soooo excited when we said where we were going :D
She found the same stick and had lots of swims, I was really impressed as she's been so inactive.
And today's poos have been nearly normal :)
At the market when I asked the meat van man how much the chicken legs were he said, how many do you want? So I said it depends how much they are, they're for the dog so I need quite a lot. He obviously loves dogs and realised she must be unwell so wanted all the details. So I got 10 legs for a fiver which must be a bargain :D
