Diana has been dead a very long time, the Prince of Wales' wife should be the Princess of Wales, and of course when (if) he is King she will be Queen Consort. I don't see the problem........

This Duchess of Cornwall title is a bit silly really.......

Yes it is a bit silly now that she is only the Duchess of Cornwall and not Princess of Wales. It is for that reason of course that Kate had to be Duchess of Cambridge. She couldn't be made a Princess and be higher in rank than Camilla. I know all that was in the past, but it is time to move on. Camilla has done a good job and has kept her head down and been very supportive where needed. Whatever she has done in the past (and it wasn't exactly anything wicked was it) she has earned the right to have the full title now.

Actually as the person who will be requested to sign into power every law the government brings to the crown. As the owner of the court system and as the final law in the land, personally I'd like a bit more.

Witness the Queens opinion on old hook hand. Once it was known he was gone, two weeks. Shazam, in the US.

The monarch has a huge amount of power. The fact that our Queen chose to abdicate that responsibility to an increasingly shady bunch of near criminals does not do her that much credit.

But it has set a precedent. Even if Charles was only King for 10 years, I'd like to see that precedent broken.

This is the third time I have written a reply on my IPad and have lost it.. Maybe there is a message here!
I never travelled without my case of Homeopathic remedies that were indespensible and part of our luggage.
We have the Royal London Hopital for Homeopathy and many other hospitals now have a Homeopathic wing.
Homeopathy is and has become a threat to the pharmesutical industry as more and more people are turning to it and to Naturopaths.. The pharmesutical industry is interested only in making money, many of their products are more dangerous than the illness the individuals are suffering with, bogus medicines imported by pharmacies for cheapness. I had an experience of this around six months ago the pharmacist stated he was not responsible it was send by the suppliers.
Arnica Montana, a must in our household. Nux Vom, Rhus tox and Ruta Graveolins, Pulsatilla,
and many many more have a place in my medicine cupboard, I also use a Homeopathic vet for my animals.
I am taking NHS medication, have just read of the dangers of Omoperazole that I have been on for two years.
I have always been a great believer in Homeopathy and as far as I am concerned the Proof is in the Pudding
Placebo or whatever,it works.. I take my hat of the Prince Charles and the Royal family who are strong advocates of Homeopathy. Why should he stay silent I think the suggestion that he should keep his mouth shut is unbelievable.

I hope we are not confusing homeopathy with natural remedies many of which are just fine and the basis of many medicines, eg willow bark, quinine etc Taking a tiny quantity of a pathogen has to be useless and is destroyed by complement before B cells have any chance to make antibodies. A possible placebo effect which could I suppose stimulate an immune response in certain individuals like mainly that of acupuncture although that could deaden some nerves temporarily.
As for Camilla of course she should be Princess of Wales and Queen in the unlikely event Charles outlives his mother who obviously has no intention of giving up and the anachronism continues. If only she could have re -established some proper authority and perhaps have put a stop to the immigration disaster. :(

Rodo, you know I love you, but I don't think that the fact that he will be King one day is at all relevant. His opinion is worth no more than anybody else's. I am very much in favour of the monarchy, which I think is much preferable to a President Blair/Cameron/Whoever, but the person who holds the title of monarch is just a person like the rest of us and his or her options should carry no more weight than the man on the Clapham omnibus, and certainly no more than modern medical science.

They can call Camilla whatever they like but constitutionally she is the Princess of Wales and if or when Charles accedes to the throne she will be Queen regardless of what pointless title they choose to confer upon her. She is much more grounded than Diana ever was. Diana was not the only person to hold the title of Princess of Wales. It goes back to the time of Edward III and to refuse to recognise Camilla as such is flying in the face of history and kow-towing to the modern beatification of Diana, who was just a girl who happened to hit the right note of celebrity at the right time.

Actually PP you have contradicted yourself.

You say that you far prefer a monarchy to a president. What you are saying is that you wish to invest the power of a presidency in someone who is likely to be more responsible and is more controllable than some person selling themselves for public office.

By doing that you invest that person with power. The opinion of a person with power counts for much, much, more than the ordinary person in the street. Because that person in the street has abdicated power to the monarch.

It cannot be both ways. Either we have an arbiter with the power to intercede for the people or we do not. If we do, then the opinion of that person matters and I, for one, would like to know the opinion of that person before it is used behind closed doors.

I am with the Clapham Omnibus passenger.

As Head of State, The Queen must remain politically neutral, since her Government will be formed from whichever party can command a majority in the House of Commons.

The Queen herself is part of the legislature and technically she cannot therefore vote for members of another part of the legislature.

For the most part she is politically neutral, and that is how things should be.

Other members of the Royal Family do not act on ministerial advice, but they also are required to preserve their political neutrality so as not to embarrass The Queen.

So, if the rules are being followed, as they should be, Charles should put up and shut up; and more than that, his mutterings should be given no more weight than those of the omnibus traveller.
