We have thousands of young doctors who have qualified and are now working in pubs and McDonalds as they are denied positions in our hospitals.
YET we import so called doctors and nurses whose command of the English language is minimal, whose authenticity as doctors surgeons and nurses is questionable. (but no one bothers to check until a disaster occurs)
Now we are having those with confirmed HIV being permitted to operate and work openly in our hospitals. "No risk to patients we are informed"
Remember the dentist who was HIV positive who infected one of his patients? and there have been more scares with women who have given birth being called back by the hospitals. The NHS has become a secret society informing the public only what they think is good for them!!
What the hell is the BMA government and medical authorities thinking of.. Let us get our newly qualified fraternity into hospitals, whose fees have cost the tax payer a fortune. Yet the authorities ignore them, throwing them on the scrap heap.. We have some brilliant foreign doctors in this country, but we also have too many who are not up to the expected standard. I personally am lucky, my oncologist is brilliant, however I saw one of his colleagues, and felt distinctly uncomfortable, his command of the English language was poor and communication skills negligible I requested to see my usual doctor who I informed of my concerns.
We need to be selective, get rid of the rot at all levels that we know exists. stop buying sub standard medical equipment from third world countries that are positively a danger to the patient.. Lowering standards in all areas to third world status is not the answer.

I have quite a bit of time for Prof. Sally Davies, she has been one of the more sensible chief medical officers.... till now.

When I have been in hospital patients with Hep, HIV and even loose bowel movements, have been kept in isolation - as far as possible. Staff who suspect that they have flu are told to stay away; there are posters telling them so. Nothing below the elbow is now the rule and hand washing between patients is mandatory. All of this is done to keep patients safe.

Now this!

It smacks of a PC decision which opens up the vulnerable sick to the risk of infection where once it did not exist.

This is the direction consecutive government has travelled,lower standards in all areas, Elf and safety in the police force restricting them from "saving lives" lest they hurt themselves.. Fire departments. In the workplace. Punishment metered out to those who prevent burglars from breaking or getting caught on their properties with intent. Uman Rites
Anything for publicity, to placate the criminal and prosecute the defender. Criminals bragging of the great time they have in Jail, porn films, excellent menu, entertainment keep fit,snooker, my granddaughter is a prison officer "interesting conversations"
Every consideration given to criminals at the expense of the public, particularly if one is indigenous.

Was it quoted as being a 1 in 5 million chance of being infected by a health worker according to someone on the BBC yesterday? A risk is a risk
Will we be able to decline being treated by someone who is HIV+? I'm asking a stupid question there aren't I....
