Now you really have lost me. The British Isles were once a peninsula of mainland Europe. When the ice of the last Ice Age melted they became an archipelago. The people left behind became the ancient British tribes. DNA evidence shows that they were Caucasian. As time went by they traded with the mainland. As further time passed they were repeatedly invaded. We had Romans, Norse and other Vikings, Saxons, Danes and finally Normans.

We are about as mixed a bunch of Europeans as there is to find. Unless you know something different I submit that we are Europeans.

I'm talking about attitude, society and mores.

We are about as non European in everything but genetics, as it is possible to be. We stand in opposition to their way of living and working on almost every facet of our lives.

Genetics are one thing, the structure of society is something else. We are also significantly more flexible in our approach and outlook.

None of which fits with the EU blanket of social structure, which is strangling the life out of UK society.

Which is why I say we are NOT Europeans. Not at all. Regardless of our genetic heritage.

Suff, we might as well pack in as we are never going to agree, but it has been interesting and although we have opposing views I will honestly look forward to the referendum.... if it ever happens.

It has been fun though. Because you argue for the EU at a UK centric point of view. I who don't particularly like the EU, argue it from the EU point of view.

It gives me an insight into how all our EUphile MP's think....

But, yes, it will be interesting IF we get a referendum. But I think we will get a referendum because feelings are so high about unaccountable politicians that this is one they can give away with ease.
