The UN inspectors on their way to the attack area(s) were fired on by snipers (unknown origin). Now who would do that?

As for the warmonger, Hague. Not only does he not have any evidence about who carried out the attack (nobody does) he also does not have the support of the UK's people. I am wondering which part of "it is not our problem to sort out" he is struggling with?

And those doing the feeding are the British media, especially the BBC. There has been no real analysis. A more measured view is taken by Al Jazeera, RT and Press TV (Iran) who you would actually expect to come out in support of the Rebels.

I see that the USA are now considering taking military action against what they describe as 'the most heinous of crimes'.

I would have thought the atom bombs they dropped on Japan would have qualified for that description.

Tony Blair is now calling for us to "take sides" against Syria.
THAT SETTLES IT!!!

And the inspectors have reported?

Nothing yet. Also they are going on about their task snipers or not.

They need the time to get their job done.

Parliament is recalled on Thursday to "debate" the Syrian conflict. Cameron says there will be:"a clear Gov't motion & vote on UK response to chemical weapons attacks."

Putting aside the fact that it is none of our business, how can there be a clear Gov't motion? The UN inspectors have not made a report, and are unlikely to do so by Thursday, so what will be debated?

The impression being given by some western powers is that minds have already been made up. So is mine. I do not want the UK to go to war over Syria, even if chemical weapons were used, and from what I have read people like me are in a majority. I have emailed my MP to tell him that if he votes for war he loses my vote.

If the debate turns into a vote and Cameron loses he could use the Royal Prerogative to go to war, but if he does it will be goodbye Tories at election time no matter how well the economy is doing.

A Telegraph on-line poll currently puts public opinion at 79% against any military action.

I would have thought that conclusive enough, but then when does Government take a blind bit of notice of public opinion?

I think that on matters such as this, there should be a plebiscite.

But politicians would never agree to that. They value their power too much.

Politicians tend to think of it as a "pleb" isc ite. And they don't let the plebs do anything without their willing consent....

The UK has now produced a draft resolution at the UN "authorising necessary measures to protect civilians" in Syria.

David Cameron says the UK resolution condemns the chemical weapons attack by Assad's forces.

What evidence does he have?

I hope it fails.

In other news: Spivs to make loadsa money out of the misery and suffering in Syria. Syria produces about 0.5 of 1% of the world's oil, a great excuse for the spivs to push up the price. If the UK wants to take military action it should be on the trading floors.

What hypocritical lying rubbish this is. How are we proposing to "protect civilians"? By firing missiles into Syria? How many civilians will that kill?
If we enable the rebels to take over in Syria more Christians will be murdered and more 14 yar old boys will be shot in the street for making a joke. How is that protecting civilians?

You would have thought that we would have learned the lessons of Libya and iraq; obviously not.
What this country is proposing to do in Syria is shameful.
I haven't been on a protest march for more than thirty years but I would be up for one about this.
