Aw bless him. I grew up with dogs at my grandparents and even though I got bitten on the face by my grandads collie, I was never scared.

We couldn't have a dog at home as mum worked full time. When we got married Tim had always wanted a Pyrenean Mountain Dog, but they don't have fantastic temperaments, so we looked elsewhere and one day say a man walking Newfoundland. I went to a dog show, met a lovely lady and we put out names down for a puppy. Dudley was great, but hard work. He loved Tim, but that was because Tim used to walk him because I couldn't manage him, and he used to play with him a lot. I wanted my own little dog, so we got Rowlf our black and tan cocker spaniel, after we lost him at 6 we got H our golden cocker. We lost Dud at 14 and then H hated being alone so went to live with Tim's mum and dad.

And now I would love a Whippet, but it ain't gonna happen

I grew up with dogs and I'd love to have one and absolutely love reading everyone's stories on here. But asI work full time it just wouldn't have been fair to get a dog; so I got cats instead  And I'm probably one of the few people that loves both equally and I cannot wait for the day I retire can can adopt a rescue dog to come live with me and the cats (not sure the cats will be equally pleased :? )

Thankfully I get my doggy fix whenever I visit Karl and Nadine - their dog Bella (lab collie x) is as daft as anything but goes absolutely mad whenever I visit.

Dogs just give so much love

Ooh not just you meriad, I've always absolutely loved both cats and dogs :)
My mum worked too, so a dog was out of the question but my first cat was for my second birthday and she lived till I was 21 :)

I'd have one (or more) now, but this garden is small and walled, and I do love having all the birds. The pickings would be just too easy :( :)

Oh yes Di, a running - or flying - buffet for cats :?

Well the good news is that Fraggle is eating well today :) I asked the rescue lady what he was used to - Wainwrights as it turns out - and we got some and he fell on it

You know, the entire week we were in Cornwall Billy didn't even look at his food. He'd eat his treats - Milky Bones, Markies and dog biscuits - but that was it. When we got home he heard me unpacking his bowls in the kitchen and came running in at lightning speed so I did him a drink and a bowl of food and the food never touched the sides!
