Dog breath!

Dear Pet lovers

Oh dear, I don't want to mention this to Jasper, but he has bad breath Poor dog. How can I let him know without upsetting him? Is there anything he could take to help? There has been no change to his diet, so not sure why this is happening. His teeth are fine...when he lets me look

I know people give their dogs Dentistix; we can't give Minnie anything like that but I think they're generally ok. It's probably best to establish whether there's any underlying problem though, if it's come on recently.

He has those Di. I'll just keep an eye on him. Maybe his tummy is upset.

Now Millie can't have any thing hard to eat (like bones, chews, etc) she has terrible breath as she isn't chewing and therefore her teeth aren't getting properly cleaned.

I have resorted to cleaning them with a toothbrush every now and again - she hates it though.

The tartare builds up on her teeth but Dan (the hunky vet) showed me how to just pick it off with my nail. Sounds gross but it works.

You have indeed found yourself in a rather delicate situation here.

Your precious pooch has a bout of halitosis but how does one resolve the situation without hurting the little fella's feelings?

One could try taking the dear chap with you when you brush your own teeth and guide him to the altar of breathfreshness by showing him how one cleans one's teeth.

Loz in all seriousness if his teef are ok, then tummy probs do come to mind. Peps and FraggleMonster both have lovely teeth - they are on dried food and have dentastix too I wouldn't say their breath is sweet exactly, but pretty good for dog=breath

Dear other people....I wonder if it is because he is using a small bite mixer with his food. I did change that from his usual. Maybe a large sized mixer would help with cleaning his teeth. Thanks for the replies fellow pet lovers...and Mad Mandy
