Flying lessons for an asylum seeker. Cost £10,000. University education for his brother.
Now the fact that these boys were placed in care when their father took off and left them arouses some sympathy from me.
So we are responsible for them, they will of course be allowed to remain here.
But why not give the lad an apprenticeship in engineering, or cabinet making as our own youngsters are studying (if they are lucky). The university is top choice I would think.
I don't resent helping these lads, but flying lessons? They take the biscuit.

We are struggling to support B through university, as we are the classic "squeezed middle" ie Mick earns too much (just) for us to get the full loan and we are topping up her rent fees (to the tune of over a thousand already!) and paying her living expenses until she can find a P/T job that will fit in around her studies and work placement I am already worrying that it might get too much.......Children of those on benefits get a full grant that won't ever need paying back

Write to your MP Kaz, better still ask for an appointment to meet up with him.. Votes at the next election there will be no damnable MP getting my vote they are a bunch of chancers. Not worth a penny of the tax payers money. They along with the EU have managed to destroy this country and the indigenous have been shoved to the bottom of the pile.

Kaz, I know what you mean. Those who just get their heads down and work, try and get on etc, get nothing from the state. Those who don't get a hell of a lot more state money spent on them. It's maddening.

Now, what really cheeses me off about this is that I have two friends who were married with a child about to go to university. He left her so although the child had a father who was perfectly able to support her through university, she was given a grant because her parents had split up. I have no idea how much it was, it certainly didn't cover everything but she will not have to pay that bit back, whereas we had to pay for accommodation for our youngest and she received the loan for her fees, which does have to be paid back.

It just seems so unfair that because they decided to end their marriage, it meant that a lot of financial responsibilities for their child ended and the tax payer had to foot the bill.

What are the Courts up to?

They are failed asylum seekers; a rather soft PC description for bogus asylum seekers or illegal immigrants. They were only given leave to remain until they were old enough to fend for themselves after they were abandoned and taken into council care.

Keeping them safe, fed and watered is one thing; giving them access to things not available to those born here should never happen.

Kate I have lost faith with the lot of them, they are all as bad as one another - in it for what they can get It would be a waste of my time, just IMO though......

I'm already worrying about Tom going to university, which will be in 2015.
