Absolutely agree Ossie, Biggs, lest the BBC forgets, was a member of a gang of ruthless criminals who would let no obstacle stand in their way.

And coincidentally The Great Train Robbery is on BBC 1 (I think) tonight!

And it was planned as I saw it advertised last week.

I think the trouble with the publicity about this robbery was that it was called The Great Train Robbery,
which, in a way, in some people's minds, makes it sounds 'great'. If it had been called The Despicable Train Robbery,
perhaps the perpetrators would not have been looked on as folk heroes.

Haven't we (the media) always created anti-hero heroes, especially those who challenged the establishment?

We have had Blackbeard, Dick Turpin, Robin Hood, the Krays. And on the other side of the pond: Dillinger, Bonnie and Clyde..........
