45 Penalty points.

Postby Aggers » 07 Jan 2014, 14:20

An unnamed Liverpudlian motorist has been collared eight times in seven months for
speeding, but allowed to keep his Driving Licence, despite having accrued 45 penalty points.

How? Because he told the Magistrate that he would suffer hardships without his car.
He happens to be just one of 7,200 motorists who remain on the road after racking up
12 points or more.

What has gone wrong with the legal situation in this country?

If a loved one of yours was killed by one of these criminal motorists, what would you do?

Not the first Aggers, I have noted this previously. Like the foreigner who killed the child and took off, he got off. No licence no right to be even be driving a car in UK.

The next time he is stopped for speeding, his car should be immediately impounded and he should be made to walk home no matter what time it is and what the weather is. Then make him attend some road crashes to see what really happens to victims.
Where is he getting the money from to pay his fines?

You do wonder about some Magistrates and Judges, don't you?

I can't help speculating whether the perp was a Mason .......

I am unable to understand why the Masons have such a terrible unjust reputation. They like the Soroptimist's and Oddfellows both of which I am and have been member for many years, they like the Masons do a great deal of good in this world. I would suggest they are more likely to be converts to the organisation Common Purpose.

It depends on what the points were for, some at least could have been for doing say 31 mph in a 30 zone, which would hardly make the driver a dangerous one. As for the Masons, Kate, I said before that a friend I once had was stopped after doing 140 but was soon on his way again without penalty. :(

Twelve points in any three-year period should be the absolute limit - no sob-stories or excuses. The length of the ban, however, does not have to automatically be a minimum of one year. Circumstances have to be taken into account with that regard and reduced bans could be used, as in France and Germany.
