After seeing on the news of the civil unrest and demonstrations taking place in so many
other countries, I sometimes wonder how long it will be before this country follows suit.

Our Government are certainly going the right way to start one.

I think that it is only fair to point out, with regards to Syrian refugees, that it is Ed Miliband and Labour who have vowed to force a vote on the issue next Wednesday. They want us to do more: take more refugees; send more aid.

We give more Aid to Syria from what I can gather than any other country. As for Ed Miliband he will say the first thing that comes into head, as will that appropriately named Balls. We are not selective when it comes as to who can enter this country. In the news today the Romanian and his 15 year old bride, already a mother. Housed. more than likely on benefits.

So that Clegg seems to have helped broker a deal to let a "significant number" of disabled children and elderly Syrians come here, presumably permanently and whatever a significant number out of 2.4million is. Just what the NHS and S Services needs. This is entirely a Muslim/Arab problem and the wretches who caused it all by arming the rebels should at least look after the refugees. OK Assad`s is a tough regime inherited from daddy but it needs to be tough to keep the different factions from each others throats and trying to impose democracy on such countries is utter nonsense. When will the West ever learn.

I am happy that Cameron has been pressured into granting a number of these women an children sanctuary,
I found his refusal previously to do so utterly unacceptable and embarrassing.. The world is in a shocking mess, man fighting man for God knows what, and it's the children mothers and the innocent traumatised, hungry paying the price.. I was brought up in care for a major part of my childhood separated from my siblings, we were "fed" if not loved, and had the security of a roof over our heads.
I would willingly take in a woman and child regardless of my daughters and families objections. My heart bleeds for these poor dispossessed people.

Tokenism of the worst kind.

We have been blackmailed about this and Clegg is using selective language to make it appear it will be less of a problem than it actually is. WE will be taking in those who need expensive and probably life-long medical care. To say they will be here temporarily is a lie. Once here they will stay here, just as all refugees before them..........

Refuge is always supposed to be temporary; until such time as the UN declares a country safe/stable. The rules are there to stop countries being 'cleansed'. But how many Ugandans went back after Amin? How many Kosovans, Bosnians, Croats and Slovakians are still here?

And I ask this: Why are the stinking rich countries of the Arabian peninsula not doing there bit? They are safe, nearer, and share the religion and a similar culture and language with the Syrians.
