Although it's been nearly 11 years Kaz it seems like yesterday!
We sold the business.
We sold our house (to a couple from Madrid!)
We sold the 2 cars.
All the furniture was sold (as soon as we said we were moving suddenly all our friends were staking claims to everything which was great)
2 days before we flew to Spain the house was completely empty (the kitchen still had all its goods) but all our possessions were packed in large boxes. 9 of them.
The four of us had a suitcase each and hand luggage.
That was it! It was so exciting..even typing this now makes my heart beat faster at just how much of adventure it was to be making this move.
We rented for the first year we were here and after 12 days our boxes arrived but remained mostly unopened (I'd packed one box with a few sentimental things, some of the boys toys, etc. and clothes so's I wouldn't be unpacking everything only to pack it all again once we'd settled into our new home.)
The other boxes weren't opened again until we'd bought it and moved in.
The rented house was fully furnished so we just bought everything new for our new home.
What I did learn was how very adaptable the boys were and how much 'spirit' they had at such an early age.
I also realised 'stuff' is just that...'stuff' and we could get by very easily on just the possessions that were at hand.
Best thing we ever done.
