Going completely off topic, not only am I a bigot (I take no offense whatsoever, BTW) - I also have one!! A Pascale Bigot, and it's an original!!

Ours is in the same style, of a French farmhouse landscape in pastel. We met the artiste, completely by chance, several years back at a gallery in Worcestershire, and liked her vibrant work so much, we purchased one.

As I suppose it's very French, very EU, you can call me a hypocrite as well !

This is what I do not like about Gay pressure/extremism and the way it works.

In 2008 a Mr. Eich donated $1,000 to the campaign in California supporting a ban on gay marriage. Last month he was installed as CEO of Mozilla, the Firefox browser people, but has been forced to resign because of his views.

The company statement is as follows:

"Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and, this past week, we didn't live up to it," she wrote.

"We know why people are hurt and angry, and they are right: it's because we haven't stayed true to ourselves.

"We didn't act like you'd expect Mozilla to act. We didn't move fast enough to engage with people once the controversy started. We're sorry. We must do better."

My distaste is because of this: Mr Eich co-founded the company and invented the computing language, Javascript, which played a large part in making the browser so successful. Without him the people forcing him out would not be employed. He lived up to far higher standards than they sanctimoniously claim to hold in that he, his company, employed them for their skills not for their views on a given subject, views which differed from his.

He has not broken any law, but there is a new form of McCarthyism now in place and to which he has become a victim: it stinks to high heaven.
