Thanks all.

She was sick again this morning - sick rather than regurgitating. You could hear her little tummy rumbling after she had eaten so I am going to give her a dose of the antacid this evening to se if that helps.

I am trying to focus on the number of meals that she is keeping down rather than those that she isn't. Its a much more positive figure when you look at it like that!

I spoke to my wonderful vet this afternoon and she is back on her antacid again. It's going to be tough when I go back to work though.

I have to give her the antacid twice a day which needs to include in the morning before her breakfast. I will need to give her her breakfast no later than 8am (as she needs three bowls with 10 minutes between each bowl so that will take me up to 8.20 so that I can then watch her to make sure she isn't sick. I need to leave the house by 8.40) which means giving her the thick medicine at 7.30 - which means giving her the antacid no later than 6.15am.

Then I will need to nip home at about 12pm on a Tuesday and Wednesday to give her the medicine and then wait 30 minutes before I can feed her and then get back to work again (that'll fit well into my 30 minute lunch break won't it. Good job I have a very understanding boss!!!). Fortunately I only work half a day on a Monday and don't work on a Thursday and Friday.

Then as soon as I get home at 4pm she will have to have the antacid so that I can give her the medicine at 5.15pm to feed her at 5.45pm and then medicine again at 9.15pm to feed her again at 9.45pm and then hang around to make sure she isn't sick before I go to bed!

What a faff!

Well things didn't go quite to plan this morning. I got up bright and early and gave her the antacid and within 10 minutes she had been sick. :(

I am waiting for the vets to open so I can make an appointment to get her up there sometime today as now she has something wrong with her ear. She cried yesterday a couple of times when we caught it and that made me realise that over the last few days her ear has been down rather than up. I commented on how funny she looked a couple of days ago. We haven't noticed her scratching it - but then again, she can't as her leg is bandaged up.

It will also give me the chance to speak to the vet about the vomiting as it is now vomit rather than regurgitation.

She hasn't been herself for the last couple of days and I think that could be her ear.

Poor little thing.

It's really starting to get me down Ally. I'm haven't slept particularly well since it happened and now I've completely lost my appetite - I've lost just over half a stone since her accident.

And when I do eat, I get terrible indigestion.

I feel really stressed about it - I can't concentrate on anything. I usually read all the time and when I'm not reading, I knit and I am struggling to concentrate on either at the moment.

:( :( :( :(

I hope the vet soon makes her ear better, but I feel so sorry for you Deb. I know what you mean, worry takes over your whole life. I lost about half a stone when the cats were ill and I have never put it back on. Good luck today xxx

Vets appointment made for 4.40pm. I'm wondering if the problem with her ear is causing the vomiting.

I'm just about to feed her - its like playing Russian Roulette. Will she keep it down or won't she. :( :(

Debih I'm sure any of us would feel the same.

I know the vet's the professional and all, but still don't quite understand why they're saying to feed her diluted tinned food...plain rice and later cooked chicken were all Minnie was allowed or could tolerate and I thought that was pretty standard advice for any kind of digestive problem :?
Before that she had some liquid stuff from the vet but just one little bottle, a teaspoon at a time.
Good luck for today
