Yep, Gal, you have it exactly. Because you have an iPhone, the only gateway to the iPhone is iTunes. So you have to get the pictures off the Android phone.
The very first thing you need to do is enable USB storage mode on the phone. When you connect the phone, it should ask, on the phone if you want to enable USB storage mode. If it does not ask, then slide down the top bar and there should be an entry about USB on it. Select that and enable it. Once it has done this, your computer will see the Android phone as a USB Key and will add it to your devices and to the file management.
I don't know if you have Windows or Mac. With the Mac the phone should appear as an Icon on the desktop which you can then open to get the files. In Windows, you need Windows explorer. Press and hold the Windows key then press E. Or go to Start->All Programs->Accessories-> Windows Explorer. Or it may be a pinned folder on the task bar. (All assuming windows Vista or 7, for XP you need to use the second method and go to Programs instead of All Programs).
In the Explorer you need to expand the tree. Especially the Computer Tree in Vista/Windows7. Under that you will see your C drive, CD/DVD drive and you should see the name of your phone.
Open up the name of the phone and you should see one or two entries. Phone and if you have one Card. When you open the phone or the card, or both, you should have a DCIM folder. That folder is exactly the same as a camera and all your photo's should be in it. Beware if you have a memory card, you may have pictures on both Phone and Card.
Copy the pictures to a folder on your C drive. For this, creating a folder on the desktop would be best. You can do this by right clicking on the desktop and selecting New->Folder
Once you have them in your folder on the desktop, you can then open iTunes, add the folder with the pictures to the photo's section and sync it to the iPhone.
On the Mac the process is similar but you need to use Mac tools.
That should do it.
