The ONS

are, yet again, totally consistent for this government. UK economic growth revised up to 3.2%. As far as I recall that's about 100% success. Every single time they report they have to revise the figures up.

Yet, as I recall, it was exactly the opposite with Labour. They had to revise them down almost every time.

ONS. A political organisation? Or is it just that they can't cope with a more balanced economy??

True impartiality is a rare thing in the UK these days! Just about every think tank, quango or allegedly independent body all seem to be pushing an agenda rather than looking for the facts.

I am sick to death of all this revising of figures by the ONS, especially its predictions for annual figures based on partial information. These things affect the markets even though they are only guestimates.

It seems to me that the ONS is staffed with people who firmly believe that the Labour way is the only way and that it is the best for the economy. So they constantly overestimate it. Yet they also seem to be completely unable to recognise that there is another way and that it might work. They seem to have completely bought the impression that Austerity could only be bad for the country.

Of course it depends where the Austerity is applied....
