Sean Wright is the Police Crime Commissioner for South Yorkshire. From 2005-10 he was in charge of the safeguarding of children in Rotherham. He has said he isn't going to resign.

Yes Os, the focus is deliberately being made on those who failed to stop the abuse rather than those who committed it.

Two years, four Years in prison, eight years ?. All out in half the time or less.
The law is a farce, a joke. Destroy the white trash! They say... Threaten them, burn them alive, vulnerable children in homes targeted by the filth walking our streets throughout the UK. Both Ethnic and Whites.
Prison? The time in them is no punishment for these animals whether they be Asian or British! These ba' ards hate this country and all we have fought for,
Sadly a great majority of youngsters go out looking like tarts and behave like them drunken loud and vulgar. We only have to look how they behave abroad in Spain so much so that the Spaniards are furious .
But those being raped are children. Ignored by the police and social services.and those self same people should all have their backsides fired and brought to book with a jail sentence.
Where is the outcry from the ethnic communities.? Those who have raised their voices we should thank them. The rest should be given what they deserve. "A stiff jail sentence in somewhere like Broadmoor. ANIMALS.

Well of course, but I do get a bit tired of people harking back to the past as though it was perfect. I don't think it was!

The vile brutes who did these things should be hunted down, and the full force of the law should be bought to bear. It is a shameful state of affairs...............

No, it wasn't perfect, Kaz, but for the majority of people England was a far better place to live in that it is now, in my opinion.

"Back in the past" children were abused and too afraid to report it as they were expected to be seen and not heard; women were supposed to put up with being beaten by their drunken husbands and not report it as it was part of life; people put signs in their windows saying "no blacks, Irish or dogs".

I know which era I prefer.

This is always quoted, but I've never seen any evidence for it. If it was so widespread you'd think that there would be photographs of these signs, but I've never seen one.

I've read this thread and I can't see anyone saying that things were better in the past until Kaz brought it up. Kate actually pointed out that abuse has always been around.

Don't get me wrong, I can honestly say that I prefer to live today than I would in the time of my father, but that is not the point.

There are things going on today that we thought we had put behind us. We have laws and far more resources to detect them; yet they still happen. What is more shocking is that those who are paid good money to protect us, our money, apparently turn a blind eye, as was the case in the past.

And the perpetrators, the ones who should be chased to the ends of the earth for their crimes, escape punishment due to the scourge of political correctness. Those who let them escape are culpable of aiding and abetting, so they should also be punished.

Absolutely fair comment, WM.

The only way we will overcome this is by challenging the proponents of political correctness wherever and whenever we can.
