How can anyone with an ounce of compassion ever ever feel that it is right to jail his parents who, let's not forget, have done NOTHING criminal. I want to scream and shout at someone, pummel their uncaring faces, make someone somewhere do something sensible and practical. Perhaps what the parents did was ill advised, but they had put a lot of thought into it, I watched the father's video and thought he was very articulate and in the end all they want is the best they can get for their lovely little boy. It's amazing how money can be found for sex change ops, breast enhancements ( and reversals), gastric bands........and yet not to give a little boy a chance of life. I despair, really I do.

What you say, Osc, sums it up well, and I'm sure your feelings are the same as the vast majority of normal people.

I despair, too.

How the police and authorities care..
There is a debate following PMQ's on the lack of protection from the police, social Services, Councils etc regarding child abuse that is endemic throughout this country.
Guess what? about 25 individuals MP,s have remained in house, the rest have scarpered off to the heavily subsidised bar.

Since when has imprisoning parents, who have broken no law, three hundred miles away from a five year old boy been in that child's best interests?

Those doing so have massively abused their powers.

I see the CPS, in a rare rush of common sense, has decided to withdraw the arrest warrant and wants to see Ashya and his parents reunited.

I think the massive public backlash against their half witted actions has made them think again.
Talk about backpedalling.

I haven't been following this but I feel that this needs to be followed up with a legal action against the council and the CPS for wrongful arrest.

There needs to be some serious penalties here. So the councils and the CPS get their act together before submitting a completely illegal arrest order.

They are so fast to issue these orders and someone needs to stop them and make them understand that there are consequences to them for breaking the law.

The main thing is they will be reunited. However the follow up must ensure that no other family has ever to suffer this again in similar circumstances.

"State Control" What a route we have gone down!
Thank God the parents have been freed from this disgraceful situation to join the much loved, much needed little boy.
not one of those involved in the disgraceful debacle has admitted responsibility from the hospital social services, council or police
We are unable to deport the filth that commits crime and walks our streets but we saw those same authorities wrench loving parents away and throw them into prison in a country where they do not speak our language, leaving their child abandoned for whom they were seeking alternative treatment for their beloved child . And the damned governments has only "just"

Heard on the radio this morning the father saying he had told the hospital in Southampton before he took his son, that he was not happy with the treatment and would be taking his son pout.
No mention of when or who he told, but I would trust him more then any spokeperson for the hospital

And so.would I cruiser, thank God the child and his parents have been reunited, sadly the separation will have done the child more harm than good.
