Now Cameron and Osborne are talking Devo Max???? After a poll shows that everything they have said to date has only pushed a stronger Yes vote.
Scots have long experience with this. Promises before the vote, denial after. The pundits may be blathering on about people who would choose Devo Max before Independence, but that is not the choice on the table.
If anything, I think this incredibly cynical last minute attempt to stave off utter defeat is pitiful and will be seen by Scots as such. How do you trust the word of a government you quite literally had to put a gun to the head of before they saw sense? Take the gun away? Business as usual.
I expect to see the poll spark a touch higher for independence after this one. Westminster has just proved that they are scared to death of a Yes vote and will do anything in their power to limit it's consequences. Shared currency comes to mind.....
