I have always likes Downton, even the last series when it seemed to be losing the plot, and this new series has raised a niggle.

It is now 1924, 14 years since King Edward died, and nobody has aged..... There hasn't even been any attempt in make-up to put a few years on anyone.

It made me smile when Moseley dyed his hair in order to look younger.... it should be everyone else going the other way.

Yes......Not so much with Mary and Edith as actually both actresses are pretty close to the age of their characters now, and some women barely change between 20 and 30, but the Dowager, Lord Robert and Lady Cora, Carson and Mrs Hughes hardly look a day older, and at their ages 12 years would make a fair difference! It started in 1912 I think, the Titanic sinking was mentioned in the first episode when they lost the original heir and Matthew came into it......

Mind you, it was the same with Upstairs, Downstairs - they went from around 1900 to 1929 and nobody aged at all

The last season ..... it had a slow start; took a little bit of time to "get going".

We wondered if this season would be the same, as we found it a bit difficult to get into the first episode Sunday night. It's going to need some reasonably strong storylines to keep the interest.

Regarding ageing, I must say I thought the Dowager Countess must be about 110 by now - but according to the Downton wikia , she was born in 1842, so in 1924 she is in fact only 82!

I didn't even realise the series had restarted. Last series it was plastered all over the Mail. Not sure if I can be bothered. Not with SCD starting too

His Lordship's dog seems to be weathering the storm pretty well too. Unless he keeps replacing his lab with another the same colour and name.

Yes, it's a rare lab that reaches 14 surely????
