Their customs are armed, their immigration is a nightmare with huge queues and their staff are, generally, singularly unamused.

It wasn't the best of experiences. On that visit we travelled through Venezuela (1 week stay), via Santiago to Argentina then back via Santiago (stop off for the night), Lima in Peru and Venezuela (stop off overnight again), before flying back to Paris.

My Son says that if you call the Police in Argentina to report a burglary, the Police are likely to steal even more from you.... Such is much of Latin America....

On our fist visit to Argentina, they were levying an "exit" tax. So, like Mick, we had to go off to the counter and pay our dues before getting out of the country. They've stopped that now, but it was not amusing at the time.

Those who understand Binary and those who do not.

No I can imagine. Mick had several scary experiences when he travelled abroad as an engineer - they had an armed guard in the Phillipines

t

We had armed guards on our complex when my husband was project manager there. The first thing he did was publicly declare there would be no ransom paid if any one was abducted. (That included me and Yasmin) LOVE IS. :D :) :D
