Saundra, you are right! It is a tick box exercise, and paying GPs extra to do their (already well paid) job is a farce! They did this several years ago with diabetes, but that didn't seem to hit the news
I've been tested for it several times so have made my GPs some useful cash I'm sure
Kate I had a conversation with my MIL yesterday, she said she thinks she is starting with a brain/memory problem, but quite honestly she is sharper than many people my age, and I told her as much! I forget the names of common everyday things, forget people's names (but never faces), go into a room and then forget why I did it
I think it is part of the normal ageing process, whereas dementia is something altogether different and much more profound xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I do a cryptic crossword and a codeword puzzle most days, and almost always complete them, and they do say puzzles are good for keeping the brain exercised
