We refuse to have the flu jab. Doctors get paid for that as well. And we won't go to the doctor unless we have to. Our chemist is very good and will give/sell us something if we feel under the weather.
Have tried to find dementer in my medical dictionary but there is no reference. Is it a new disease?

I'm assuming that's Dementia.

If you are worried, you can always try the Sage Test at home....

I've never been good at memory tests, ever, throughout my life. So should I be worried when I stutter on these tests??   Although the I could see the spacial reference tests without the guide.... One of my life skills I was born with.

I remember when I was 21, talking to my Grandfather. He told me that he was getting old because he would walk into a room and then wonder why he went there.... I thought; Old? I've done that all my life....

Those who understand Binary and those who do not.

No one has more memory problems than I do Saundra, my daughter in laws name in the USA escaped me yesterday, I saw our vet and did not recognise him.. Every time I am in town I am approached my men and women alike who say "hello Kate how are you" I struggle to know and remember who they are!!! :!:  my doctor says the cause is stress. I cannot imagine that stress can cause such traumatic loss of memory in ones life. However I plod on replying to all those who greet me wit "I am fine, lovely to see you again!you are looking well" as I escape ;)
I looked at sage Suff got down easily to the join up to department and the dollar's change, having discovered one has to join up numbers and letter. No pen and paper to hand.. And no results I note are not available. Ah well I exercised my brain for a few moments :) don't worry Saundra dear, we all get forgetful, my annoyance is when my daughter sighs with exasperation because I have forgotten things and says OMG you have forgotten again Mum :!:

Saundra, you are right! It is a tick box exercise, and paying GPs extra to do their (already well paid) job is a farce! They did this several years ago with diabetes, but that didn't seem to hit the news ;) I've been tested for it several times so have made my GPs some useful cash I'm sure :?

Kate I had a conversation with my MIL yesterday, she said she thinks she is starting with a brain/memory problem, but quite honestly she is sharper than many people my age, and I told her as much! I forget the names of common everyday things, forget people's names (but never faces), go into a room and then forget why I did it :?  I think it is part of the normal ageing process, whereas dementia is something altogether different and much more profound xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I do a cryptic crossword and a codeword puzzle most days, and almost always complete them, and they do say puzzles are good for keeping the brain exercised 8-)

They say that when you are getting dementia you can`t remember what you have just said, what you have just said, what you have just said. :o
