I don`t need help taking the bins out Ria (luckily) but it was so windy last night
that they would blow over.
They are supposed to be out by 7am but for years there has been no collection until
late afternoon so it has come as a bit of a shock that they are here by 8am now.
I normally put them out the night before.
Happy Anniversary Kaz and Mick xx

He does Ria. :)
We have had some problems though, the main one being that we thought that the sale would go through at the start of the school summer holidays; the estate agents and solicitors took their own time though and it didn't go through until the end of the summer holidays. This made a big difference because Crommers jnr is a peripatatic music teacher and works Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings as well. Then he plays soccer on Saturday afternoons. So instead of having five solid weeks to get the house fettled, it's been a matter of doing it mornings and weekends for him.
Plus we thought it was a case of just moving straight in. But like a lot of old houses, there are bodges beneath the surface!
So even though he has worked hard (he's decorated it top to bottom with little help, including high ceilings and skirting boards) it has taken a lot longer than we thought.

There are a few little jobs still to do but touch wood it is more or less finished. :Hi:

That sounds very like our old house when we moved in. We knew it needed work but every job done uncovered something else (like when John 'just quickly' removed the polystyrene tiles from the bathroom ceiling as they'd been flagged up on the survey as a fire hazard; they brought whole ceiling down with them). My parents were a huge help, not only doing little jobs but being there when tradesmen were working or waiting for deliveries while we both worked to pay for it all. There was no way we could take the time off but the jobs had to be done to make it habitable.

Oh thanks Kaz, that's lovely!
Jo, I know exactly what you mean! Remove the dado rail and the old plaster comes with it; to fit a water meter, the pipework needs rejigging and a cabinet removing; and so on.
I remember polystyrene tiles, we used them to help light the fire when the coal was wet!
