Good morning Christmas Eve Saturday

Postby Ally » 24 Dec 2022, 04:52

Good morning.

Another gorgeous day forecast 22° again. 8-)

Conor's coming over this morning to drop gifts off before he heads to Granada with Lucia and her family for four days. :D

Don and I are going out for a long lazy lunch. :x

As is Spanish custom absolutely everywhere will close by 6pm as everyone gets together with their families for the most important feast of the year tonight. :?

We've got pizzas, cheese, crackers and TV. Bliss. :D

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s nice enough here, for the moment anyway. We will be heading into town to soak up some atmosphere and hopefully get some lunch. If restaurants are too busy we’ll just have a cuppa with a scone or something, then bring home an M&S meal. Then back to settle down for some Christmas tv - looking forward to the Royal Carol service, we really enjoyed it last year. All that we have to do for tomorrow is Edward to make bread sauce and me to bring my rubber gloves to help with the clearing up after dinner. Michael and Kellie have organised games and quizzes and it’ll be a nice family day.

Morning all.
A nice sunny morning here. I'm off on the scout for a pork pie soon for tomorrow.
Other than that, not too much.
MrsC's cousin David and his son have come over from Canada to see his parents and they've all gone down with the sickness and stomach upset bug that has laid so many people low around here. Welcome to England, the bathroom's over there!
So MrsC has made the arrangements with the Vicar for her Auntie Violet's funeral over the phone. Her Uncle H was to have been doing it.
I've got "Casablanca" recorded, we might watch that this afternoon. Our son is coming over later.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

It is a pleasant day here, quite mild and dry.

One last little shop then preparing everything for Christmas dinner so that I can have a lie in tomorrow.

There are a few good films to watch so it should be an easy day.

Take things steady and don't stress too much.... it will all be over soon. ;)

Morning all :)

Rain overnight, but it's nice and sunny now.

We've had a nice lie in, everything is done so we plan a nice relaxing day. It's just us tomorrow and Boxing Day. Zoe, Mark and the boys will be here for the day on Tuesday. Tbh I doubt we'll step outside before Wednesday

Hope you all have a good day Image

Happy Christmas Eve everyone :)

We slept in late, then had brunch at Corretto's watching the skaters :) Spent a couple of hours round at D's, then came home. I've stripped the bed where Hannah and Armand slept, and got that washed and dried, started my trifle for tomorrow, and we're popping round to Em and Dave's in a bit to swap presents and have a drink. The road under the bridges open again! :Hi: :Hi: xx

Love everyone, wishing us all a very Merry Christmas :D :D xxx

We’ve had a lovely day - got a train at 11.30, so got into town about 12pm.  We strolled along towards Grafton Street, and said we would try the restaurant in Brown Thomas (Dublin’s Harrods), figuring we would have to queue as they don’t take bookings but in fact we got a table straight away. I had duck with red cabbage and butternut squash purée. I don’t normally like red cabbage but this was delicious. Edward had fish and chips. When we were leaving, we realised that it had started raining, it wasn’t supposed to arrive until around 5pm  However we carried on to the Powerscourt Townhouse centre which is always beautifully decorated. There, we bumped into Miss Osc and family who were top of the queue for the restaurant there. Off we went again, the rain had eased a little, we went into M&S and Boots, listened to some of the great buskers out on the street,  then walked to the station for the train home. All this time, it was drizzling, but when we got home, the heavens opened so we were lucky. We had tea and Christmas Cake and we’ve just watched a lovely movie, This is Christmas, and are waiting for the Royal Carol concert. Christmas has well and truly started!
