Good morning Wednesday

Postby cruiser2 » 19 Jul 2023, 06:33

Good morning everybody.

It has been raining but the sun is trying to come out. Have been for the paper and had my breakfast. It is only 18C.

Only housework today. Can see dust in a lot of places and the vacuum cleaner wants emptying.

Have a good day everybody

Good morning.

Reaching the giddy heights of 47° today.

I've had a swim and I'll get Don to drop me at the hairdresser for 10am...this will be a first as I always walk there but it's just too hot.

Need to pack this afternoon (the aircon is going on  ) as we're leaving earlyish tomorrow.

I'll paint my nails tonight and watch the final two Sixth Commandment. It's absolutely superb.

Have a great day.

Morning everyone

Sunny, but with that funny coloured sky again

Another rubbish nights sleep, as it doesn't cool down until about 5.00, then we both sleep well for a few hours

Off to Ourique to do the supermarkets and get stuff from the chemist.

Pool will be calling.

Not sure if it's going to be a bbq or yet more salad later, we'll see.

Safe journey Ally, enjoy the cool of England and Scotland.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're soing xx

Morning all :D

Bit dull and overcast

Spoken to Ed this morning, he had a good night. Mr. McCulloch has seen him and is really chuffed with how it went. He joked Ed has almost got a full set now  Luckily the other knee hasn't been a problem so let's hope it stays that way. Ed's with physio now, or as he calls them the torture squad, if they're happy Mr. McCulloch says he could be home tomorrow. Methinks the rush is probably more to do with the senior doctors strike due to start tomorrow, but so long as he's okay I'll be glad to get him home.

Hope you all have a good day xx

I've just walked home from town. I am absolutely dripping wet.

Clothes coming off and I'm straight under that pool shower.

Morning all, the weather can’t make it’s mind up today.

Bill’s had a long walk and I’ve had a 3 mile run afterwards. The washing is on the line so hopefully it’ll dry.

Went to see Mission Impossible last night, it was a huge borefest and that was only part 1. Suffice to say John will be going to see part 2 on his own  The only thing I found exciting was that you could clearly see that the airport scenes were filmed in Grand Central in Birmingham, on the walkway above New St, and could even see some of New St’s concourse on a scene with an escalator. The empty John Lewis store was converted into an airport terminal for the film.

I’ve got to contact PALS for my Dad today. He’s had a problem with weakness in his left hand so his GP referred him late last year and he had an appointment through in January for November, so an 11 month wait. He’s now had another letter saying that the appointment has been cancelled, not postponed and rescheduled, flat out cancelled. His GP can refer him again but that’s going to put him to the back of the list again. My thinking is that the strikes have meant they’ve cancelled some appointments so that the waiting list doesn’t get longer and have looked at who needs an appointment and who they can get away with not seeing (ie the elderly) so I’m going in from the age discrimination angle.

Glad all went well Jen

Al, it must be hot if you had a lift!

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, sun and cloud here, thankfully no rain overnight as I had put a wash load on the line before going to bed. Bits and pieces to do today, changing the bed, maybe ironing the stuff that is out on the line. I also want to take out money, and drop a couple of letters into Miss Osc’s office - some post still goes to her old office and it is on our postman’s route so he delivers them here. It’s so funny, her office is literally at the end of the street, I can see the building from our window, it’s on a different postman’s run, but he is odd about taking her post from the old office  Edward has got an unexpected invite to play golf today (doesn’t normally play on Wednesday) so he will be going out shortly. We’ve just been running through some dances that we’ll be doing at our practice tomorrow, there are so many sequence dances that we need to constantly refresh our memories!

Jen, glad to hear that Ed is doing well. We have a dancing friend who is also only short of one knee to have a full set too!

Good afternoon.
Usual weather here, sunny one minute and raining the next.
Jen, do the NHS in your area use robotics in knee and hip ops? I'm glad it went for E, hope the torture squad don't give him too much gyp.
We have been out to buy a nice plain side table. My plea for a nice moroccan side table got firmly squashed.
This afternoon I will be making italian meatballs.
Have a nice day everyone.
