I wasn't aware I was freeloading. In fact I'm paying my tax but doing more than half my miles outside the country. I guess you would call my grandson with his aygo a freeloader as his ved is zero and it is not an EV.
I'm going to pick up a 12 year old car as a second car to allow me to fly when I travel. Reducing my mileage even more. So now I'll be paying 2x ved but doing dramatically less miles. I specifically chose the vehicle because it is in one of the low bracket years with £120 ved, less than my 2019 C4. Buying the car that really interested me for £1,200 but £700 per year ved held no interest for me at all.
ved is a scam and always has been. PPM will not resolve that, only drive the prices far higher for those who need their vehicles the most.
