What do we do about alcohol?

I wouldn't mind either Aggers. I feel nostalgic every time I watch Call the Midwife. Times were harder then, but where the people nicer? Somehow I think they were.

There are still some nice people about now, Medsec, but not so many as there used to be, in my opinion.

All the modern technical innovations of the last thirty years might be wonderful and have many advantages,
but I can't help thinking that they have changed the way in which people react to each other, and changed
things for the worse in many respects.

Still, there's not much we can do about it. Our little community here, on Vocal Voices, has proved to me
beyond doubt that there are still many people about who have not lost the qualities that prevailed in those
'good old days. Maybe that is because many of us developed our social qualities and personalities in the past.

Where I live, in one street, two buildings which were originally cinemas are now night clubs as are a former bank building and what were shops have also been converted.
Last Friday, before 9.30 a.m, walking to the station to catch a train, saw a man walk into a town center pub which was open for drink.
If I open a bottle of wine at home, I only have one glass each evening.
When I am cruising, I will have several glasses of wine each night, but I do not get tipsy.
When 24 hour drinking was introduced, I knew it would not work. It has been the norm on the continent for years but British youngsters did not realize the effects of too much alcohol
