I am thinking that she is 50ish and that would mean she should be able to remember things from the 70s onwards. Nothing from the 80s should be a mystery to her.......

The 90s. Did you see that overflowing pan of tortellini? And there was another tin opener! And doesn't the whole family love dry food - dry meatballs with dry carrots and cabbage and a spoonful of beans?

Me and the ex used to sometimes play 'Can't cook, won't cook' and bring in bags of odd stuff for the other to make us both a meal out of. I don't ever remember chicken and banana curry, though.
