Until Greece started doing what everyone should be doing.

Note the end result of this entire thing.

The fishermen went to the rescue of the Syrians – said to be around 50 – and then called the Turkish coast guard, who eventually took the refugees back to the Turkish coast

So why are we bringing in thousands of them hundreds of miles to Italy???

Ha! I thought this might be about the Greek economy going positive.

Under international law Turkey is a safe-haven, so Syrians on their territory are their problem, not the EU's.

Libya does not quite fit the bill, but the illegals have to pass through safe-havens to get there. Time to apply the law?

That and other impossible pursuits.

I'm waiting for someone to remember that government spending is part of GDP. The government borrowed money from the central banks reserves to pay more staff and raise government wages. Hence injecting 0.8% increase in GDP for a 10% increase in GDP borrowing.

Good value eh???

I thought it was going to be about the Greeks sending a cruise ship to Kos harbour to provide accommodation for the migrants.

(And then, once they had boarded, sneekily ferrying them back to Turkey!)
