No, she didn't really eat...a sniff at the freshly-cooked fish and rice, picked a bit up and dropped it.
She did lick some yoghurt off a spoon (thanks Debih). Bb's going to get some more yoghurt and a chicken; I might poach it (the chicken not the yoghurt) then there will be stock as well.
Another drink, stood in the doorway for a minute or two, then swayed and looked exhausted, and back in here to crash...
Pills due at 4, the toxic ones I have to wear gloves for. Am hoping to chuck them down her throat ;)

It's not very quick meriad, I think that's why they give the steroids as well, which should work in a day or two. The other drug apparently takes at least a week to have any effect. This seems to be one of the problems, it can kill them before they've had a chance to start recovering. We'll just all have to keep everything crossed.

Oh Di. I suppose because of her colitis you have to be careful anyway, so you can't just try some really expensive tinned food? I wonder if the colitis is linked, as that can be caused by immune disease too

Thanks all :)

She has eaten. When I make a cup of tea in the afternoons she normally brings her kong to the kitchen and I put 2 little biscuits in it. Today she didn't get her kong but did stand in the doorway looking at me, so I got one biscuit out and gave it to her on her bed - and she ate it :) So I gave her a second.
Bb got home early, so between us we got the 2 pills down her. She still wouldn't eat the fish and rice but I'd saved the last of the turkey, she had a tiny bit of that so I added some more to the food - and she ate the food :)
It's not very much, but it's food. And there's a tiny bit more turkey to add to some rice and fish later.
Bb couldn't get a chicken so I'll go out early tomorrow for one.

I don't know if it's related to the colitis, haven't seen any reference to that, but no, she can't have tinned food. I'm sure the chicken will work, especially with stock for the rice.

Thats really good news that she ate some food Di. I've been thinking about her all afternoon.

I was telling our vet today that when Millie was a puppy I used to put cheese spread in her kong and freeze it overnight so that it gave her something to do whilst we were out and I wondered if we could do something similar now (she is terribly bored). He thought it was a really good idea but not with cheese spread and has told us to put some of the tinned food in it and freeze that - it will also help with her intake of food and it shouldn't make her sick as she will be licking it rather than gulping it down.

I know Minnie can't have tinned food but I wonder if you could do something similar. If you can get chicken and rice in a thick liquid/paste somehow (maybe mixed with a little yoghurt) you might be able to get something into her that way. Just a thought.

Glad she's had something to eat Di xxx

And isn't it funny that she's having the same drugs I had for my colitis?
