Thanks Ladies :)

We love Fraggle to bits, and we understand why he does it, but that doesn't make it any easier to live with   He is with us for keeps, our commitment to him is 100% and he is part of the family, but it has to be sorted one way or another. Behavioural training is hopefully going to help, otherwise we might have to try medication :? :( None of us want to go down that route really :? :(

Right well Fraggle is now on something called Zylkene. It isn't a drug as such, it's a supplement made from the proteins in mother dogs' milk which is (hopefully) calming. We got the first box from the vet but we've since discovered that you can buy it over the counter at Pets at Home or online, and we've found it for less than half price online - the vet charged £80 for the visit, £25 for the consultation and £55 for the Zylkene

He is still going to be seeing Hannah, as it is really helping with his socialisation around other dogs and his behaviour out and about :) It's his behaviour at home, when he barks madly at every little noise from outside, that needs sorting! He's been on it for two days, he does seem a little bit calmer, so we'll see :) Since that neighbour complained a couple of weeks ago we are a bit worried about his barking, in case he complains officially :(

The zylkene seems to be really helping, he's still got tons of energy and personality so is still our Fraggle, but he's more chilled out especially in the evenings :) Money well spent 8-) :)

Oh and today is his two year 'Gotcha Day' - two years since we collected him from the rescue home :D 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I missed this - happy gotcha day to your Fraggle for yesterday Kaz. It must be the month for Gotcha's - my Henry is 2 years today and Harry will be 4 years on the 15th of this month :D

Re the Zylkene that is super oucha! How many did you get for that price - :o ! Have a look online, it's usually loads loads cheaper and it doesn't need a prescription.

Also what sometimes helps some animals is regular Bach Rescue Remedy - put a few drops in the palm of your one hand, gently put your palms together and then rub them over the ears of your pet. Usually their fur is thinnest there so is absorbed a lot easier. Or, valerian drops?

Ria we got 40 for that, and considering he had to have two per day for the first fortnight, then drop down to one, that is pretty dear

Thanks for the link, that's not a bad price at all but I had actually already gone online and got some from a website via Amazon ;) - meds4pets I think it is, and got another supply considerably cheaper :)

No wonder people fight to get into med school - financially set for life :o ;)
