Monday’s confrontation is just the most recent in a series of clashes that broke out a week ago when the migrants, who earlier had been able to come and go freely, were blocked in the camp for the first time. Those clashes lasted three days, with police being forced to use water cannon and tear gas to restrain the crowd, and from 26 to 28 police officers were injured, according to different sources.

At the same time, some refugees were seen throwing stones at police officers and trying to break through their ranks with sticks and the banners they were carrying.

So this is not a new thing. The 'peaceful residents' of the Jungle have been at it for some time. Well that's news, isn't it. Why haven't Sky, the BBC, the Mail and others told us?

Over 100 more raids last night. Those in the Jungle won't get out until the police have been able to process and identify every single one of them.

Sadly the French have made a rod for their own backs in this. They have allowed these people to come there illegally, to carry out illegal criminal activities in attacking the tunnel and to attack the police forces without prosecution.

Now they are on a war footing in a state of emergency. The illegals in the Jungle think that it will be over in a day or two and that they will be allowed to leave and carry on breaking laws. They are wrong and the clashes are going to get worse and become more brutal until people start getting killed as the illegals try to up the violence levels to get what they want. Those in the Jungle think they are going to be able to burn their accommodation and make their lives unliveable and that the French will just let them out.

If any single thing tells us we do not want these people, this is it. They fully believe that violence will get them what they want, whether it is legal or not.

Do we want people like that in the UK?

I predict we're going to see some pretty horrific scenes before long. The illegals are demanding that they get to the UK. But the UK has a closed border and does not want them. They have put themselves in this situation in the belief that if they are just belligerent and violent about it and carry on long enough they will get what they want.

The football friendly between Netherlands and Germany is called off and Hanover stadium evacuated due to "concrete evidence" of a bomb threat.

There will be a lot more similar situations because this is what the terrorists want.

Meanwhile France and Russia are pounding Syria with cruise missile attacks on Aleppo and Idlib and bombing runs from French naval bombers and Russian heavy bombers direct from Russia on Raqqa.

Russia is now coordinating submarine strikes with cruise missiles with French bombing runs.

At this intensity of bombing IS will find it somewhat harder to recruit new supporters especially from the west. Because when they've decimated the targets they are currently attacking, they will then start rolling up all the others.

The biggest problem now is we need to strip UK citizenship from IS in Syria and close the border to them because over the next 3 months they are going to start flooding home as the whole situation becomes too hot for them.... What we need is for them to stay behind and fertilise the ground....

I agree with all you say there, Suff, but I did not get my point across.

Getting the football match called off is another success. There is enough internet and mobile chatter about for 'credible' false alarms to be created without putting any of the terrorists at risk. Get a rock concert called off or an airport or museum evacuated and our resources soon get tied up for very little effort on their part. These things also creat the twin climates of fear and complacency within the population.

Then somewhere gets hit properly and the whole cycle starts again.

Another thing I will predict is based on what I saw in the Place de la Republique the other night. When people panic they stampede, just like Wildebeests, as a pack: a group. It only takes one to slip and a whole group could be crushed, but that is not the point. If a diversion, or small terrorist act, can create a stampede its route can be predicted. Placing gunmen or suicide bombers in its path would do far more damage than we saw in Paris.

The old IRA saying is still true.

The security services have to get lucky every single time. The Terrorists only have to get lucky once....

You are quite right about false alarms and the information which will lead to it. It's going to be a bumpy ride for at least a year or two.

Two more.

Two Air France planes diverted by bomb threats and police officers (plural but no number), wounded in a firefight in Saint Denis raids.

The feeling that this has only just begun and that the French have only just woken up to the threat they have been allowing to fester in their midst is strong...

I wonder who the first country to leave Schengen will be?? If that happens, then there will be no need for Cameron to get his "ever closer union" statement removed, because that will already be a nail in the coffin. Schengen is supposed to be like the Euro. Once entered never left...

Unfortunately Sweden will not have elections until 2018 at which point, if all this is still going on, we may see Sweden Democrats take the second place which will really put a cat amongst the pigeons... But, sadly, Sweden can't leave Schengen unless the rest of the Nordics does because of their Nordics open borders treaty.

Meanwhile Russian intelligence services have put a $50 million bounty on the heads of those who planned and executed the plane bombing.

It's about time the response was more than just words and removing rights from citizens....

There is scant coverage in European media of the Air France diversions, you have to look hard to find it and it is not hard to understand why.

In the region of 800 people were on the two aircraft - 800 people who will not want to fly Air France again. They had to be grounded, at great expense to the airline, the airports and local services - just in case. Had they been brought down in a highly populated area who knows what the devastation could have been. The media, politicians and economists want these things to go away.

So, two very expensive and disruptive operations all on the back of a couple of cheap phone calls.

It's the old terror story though isn't it. Hoax, hoax, hoax, strike. Repeated until we can't afford to ignore the hoaxes any more...
