I can associate with that reason as I like a good drink in good company. But the train means 2 days off work.... Mrs S has serious issues with losing that kind of money for "socialising"....

Oh dear, I have a bit of a problem now. It looks like B's date for going to Canada is going to be the 1st of July and I'm not sure I want to be away overnight so close to her going away for at least 6 months :(

I think our usual date of the week before would have been better for me, or even a week or so later, but I understand if you want to go ahead without me

Or I could just come for the day and get a train home in the evening? Not as much fun though as staying over...

Hun, talk to Becks and see how she feels. She is the one going away for 6 months, not you. Would she want mum to put her life on hold and sit in the kitchen waiting for a text or a call, 24/7?

Sweetheart, let her go, and enjoy letting her go. It is what she wants to do, just as you did what you wanted to do at her age.

It's not that so much as possibly there being last minute things to do. I'll think about it.

I won't be sitting around as you say, once she's gone! It's the trip of a lifetime for her and I'm thrilled for her! :) I just don't know about going away for two days, two days before she goes!
