I thought the coverage was very 'BBC' especially with the screeching Ben "I must mention Hamilton in every sentence" Edwards commentating.

I already knew about Alonso as the dear old BBC put news of the GP on the very front page of its website very early on.

It was a good day for Haas/Grosjean and Renault/Palmer, but not great for F1. Most of the coverage was about who would be the first driver out of the points from cars 8, 9, 10 and 11.

As long as there is racing going on and it's not a procession I enjoy it. Plus I did think the Hamilton, Vettel, Ricciardo battle was exciting

I am not a Hammy fan, but his take on the "Halo" agrees with mine.

The design would not have saved Massa or Senna except for a bit of luck. Another design I saw was to extend the air intake over the driver's head with side skirts down to the car body. It was dropped because of the fear of it hindering a driver getting out of a crashed car. A windscreen might help, but they are all half-way house solutions.

This is one of those problems where it is either full canopies or nothing.
