What British Muslims Really Think

Postby Workingman » 11 Apr 2016, 11:38

Channel 4 has made a documentary to be presented by Trevor Phillips ex head of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and one-time fervent advocate of multiculturalism.

As part of the programme, C4 carried out a poll, and some of the results are shocking:

* 53% want homosexuality banned

* 66% would not inform the authorities if they suspected someone of being a supporter of terrorism

* 39% think that wives should always obey their husbands

* 23% want some areas of Britain under Sharia law

Phillips has now had a change of heart, a bit late in the day. He now thinks that: "The integration of Britain's Muslims will probably be the hardest task we've ever faced" and "Hearing what British Muslims themselves think, rather than listening to those purporting to speak on their behalf, is critical if we are to prevent the establishment of a nation within our nation,"

If only people like Trevor had escaped the dinner party set and listened earlier to what British people were saying and not to those purporting to be speaking for us.

I saw that last night but was too tired to post.

But he's not actually saying that we need to stop them, he's saying it will be the hardest thing we've ever done because he wants us to capitulate. Otherwise he'd be advocating that those who purport to speak for them need to be listening to what the British people have to say and take that on board.

It's just another cycle in the greater scheme of capitulation.

I can't actually see what the heck we can do about this problem now. It is far too late, in my opinion.

All the nonsensical talk about human rights will, I'm sure, be the downfall of this country. All we can do is
blame politicians, past and present, for allowing this situation to happen.

Any foreigners who wanted to make this country their home should have been told that they had a certain
length of time in which to acquaint themselves with, and to adopt, the British way of life, under the strict
understanding that if they failed to do so they would be evicted and forced to return to their original land.

It's probably too late now to do anything effective. God help us.

It could well be an interesting documentary to watch.

The most worrying figures as far as I can tell are those wanting Sharia law and those who say they would not inform the authorities of terrorist suspicions. They make a population of about 675,000 people.

If another statistic is to be believed then 4% sympathise with those who take part in suicide bombings. That is a staggering 120,000! If only 1% of those were to ever take part that is 1,200 potential bombers out there somewhere.

No wonder Trevor has had a change of heart.

I do think, however, that if you interviewed very religious people of other persuasions that you might get similar results? Some of the fundamental Christians for instance, or Hasidic Jews?

Just playing devil's advocate here....

The question of Sharia Law Replacing British law.
Sharia Law has been in practice in this country with government consent for years. Not to the extent of chopping off hands if caught stealing etc.. but regarding divorces and other matters.. Cheri Blairs sister married to a Muslim I believe she is his second wife

According to the publicity the results are not a true image of the situation.

Not sure about that Kaz. Fundamental Christians and Hasidic Jews both tend to keep to themselves. Islam, on the other hand, is where Christianity was 500 years ago. Basically everyone is entitled to their religion whether they want it or not and must live under it's rules.

The Jews have ever been enclosed to themselves. Self determination, yes, outsiders are outsiders and they don't want them to be part of their culture anyway.

This is key. Philips is just as much a politically correct idiot now as he has ever been.

But he can't keep pushing the "Muslims are always the innocent victims and anyone who says otherwise is a racist!" line. Not after the London 7/7 suicide bombings, not after the Rotherham sex grooming scandal and all the other grooming scandals; not after Charlie Hebdo, the Madrid train bombings, the Tunisian beach massacre etc etc etc etc.

So we the ordinary Brits can't be bullied into accepting Philip's view of the world, we have to be cajoled with "Well, we know it's going to be difficult be we must...".

No, we mustn't, actually.

It may be different in other parts of the country but in West Yorkshire the Pakistanis / Bangladeshis have been here nearly sixty years and there isn't one sign of integration because they don't want to or can't integrate. Cousins marry cousins; in the home only Urdu is spoken. One of my work colleagues who was educated and intelligent and Pakistani told me openly that his children would not be allowed to marry whites. A Pakistani girls going out with a white boy is virtually unheard of; when it has happened it usually brings a violent reaction from the girl's male relatives.

And there's the other side of the coin. Many white people don't want to integrate with Muslims, either. So integration isn't going to happen any time soon as far as I can see.
