You've just made my point about Leave exactly.

If we want to stay in the EU, then the political meltdown of the 3rd largest economy in the EU, our second largest trading partner in the EU, is a BIG deal. If we're going to leave, then what the hell, let them get on with it.

Your attitude reflects the vast majority of the UK. The inability to see that this attitude is not what we need to contribute and grow in the EU is the very reason I'm Leave campaigner.

If according to Osbourne being on our own would be such a disaster, how ever did we manage before the behemoth was created :?:

My attitude is that the EU referendum is more than two months away and I have stopped reading or listening to anything about it.

My attitude is that the next big test for the country is the upcoming local council, Metro borough, Assembly, Scottish Parliament, London and regional mayoral and PCC elections in May.

They will set the political tone for the immediate future and would normally be well covered in the media. We write them off at our peril.

Indeed.

I could, if I wished, sign up for the Scottish election. But I'm not going to. Nothing I say or do will change the momentum here and where I do want to have my say I can't register.... C'est la vie...

Certainly the Scottish election is going to be something to behold. Because if the polls are correct, the Tories stand to, possibly, take second place from Labour. In Scotland that's not just HUGE, it's earth shaking.... If you understand the hatred that Maggie created for the Scots to the Tory party.

Interesting two weeks to come.

The dynamic of this set of elections is like no others seen before.

It really will be interesting to find out how all the parties in all the different elections do. It will be especially interesting to see how well UKIP, Greens and Plaid do, and also if the LibDems have bottomed out.

We could well be in for much changed political landscapes all across the countries of the UK.

We could indeed. I'm not sure that the ire at the Lib Dems is completely over yet. Also they have the big issue of relevancy now. They are so small that a relatively moderate change to UKIP could find them in 4th place and struggling for funds.

These elections could be make or break time for UKIP.

A lot of voters wanting to leave the EU should find it illogical to vote for the main parties. If a lot of them do then UKIP should get a boost, a very big boost to the detriment of Labour and Conservatives. If they don't, and remain tribal, UKIP could be finished as a viable political party in the UK.

What will happen remains to be seen.
