Guardian very confident on it's brexit polling

Suggesting that Remain have it. When over 30% said they preferred not to say.

Which makes the poll totally worthless. However I'm happy for them to keep saying this as Remainers are less likely to vote than Leavers...

As a Brexiter, one can but hope this is the case .... but the Remains were persuaded to turn out at the last ditch in the Scottish referendum, though ....

Sorry got that backwards.

Leavers are more likely to vote than Remainers.

Which is why the markets are starting to panic.

The constant banging away about the economy in the EU debate does make me wonder. Of course the economy is important but is it everything? To me it isn't but I imagine that some people would put their own comfort and financial security above everything.

So I was wondering; how many people actually care about less immediately identifiable issues like democracy, equality before the law, freedom of speech and so on.

If a dictator turned up one day and said "I promise you all financial security, just forget about democracy, freedom and all that stuff" I wonder how many people would find that an acceptable proposition? I'm thinking maybe quite a few would.

Mrs S and I have been totally clear about this. Brexit would be hugely damaging to us personally and financially. Yet we are still for it in a big way.

You can imagine how we feel about those who say "Oh it might be hard for a few years, let's not do it, let's just stay and accept what the EU is doing to us and trust our politicians to fend them off".
